Forma Radiofrequency

Controlled deep heating that softens fine lines and lifts gradually, with no downtime at all.

What it is

Heat, held precisely where collagen responds to it.

Forma applies radiofrequency energy through a handpiece that continuously measures skin temperature and adjusts itself hundreds of times a second. That feedback loop is what makes it unusual: it holds the deeper layers of skin in the narrow temperature band where collagen contracts and new collagen production is triggered, without ever overheating the surface.

The sensation is a warm massage. There is no downtime, no peeling and no visible sign you have had anything done — which makes it the treatment we most often recommend to people who want a gradual change rather than an obvious one. Its strengths are fine lines, plumping and lifting. It will not do a great deal for deep, set wrinkles, and it is not the answer for heavy or hooded eyelids — Morpheus8 or Plexr Plus are the options there.

Forma and Forma I are two different handpieces. Forma I is the one we use around the lids for dry eye; Forma is the larger handpiece used for the face and neck. Same platform, different jobs.

What to expect

Comfortable enough that people book it on a lunch break.

  1. 01
    Consultation

We assess skin laxity and set expectations. Forma is gradual — it is the wrong treatment if you want a dramatic single-session change, or if deep wrinkles are the main concern.

  2. 02
    Preparation

A conductive gel is applied to the treatment area. Nothing else is needed.

  3. 03
    The treatment

Twenty to forty minutes of what most people describe as a hot stone massage. You can drive yourself home and go straight back to work.

  4. 04
    Afterwards

Mild warmth and pinkness for an hour or so. Makeup the same day is fine.

  5. 05
    Your course

Typically six sessions spaced a week apart, then maintenance every few months. Results build across the course and for weeks after it.

Questions

Before you book

Is there any downtime?

None. This is the treatment to choose if you would rather no one could tell you have had anything done.

Will it help heavy or hooded eyelids?

Not really. Forma softens and lifts, but it does not remove excess lid skin. For hooding, Plexr Plus or Morpheus8 are the treatments to look at — sometimes both.

What about deep wrinkles?

Forma works best on fine lines and general firmness. Deeply set wrinkles need something that remodels more aggressively, such as Morpheus8.

Can I have IPL and RF together?

They are frequently part of the same plan, but never on the same day. We space the two out and sequence them for you.

How long does it last?

Most people maintain results with a session every three to six months. Aging continues; Forma slows how it shows.
