Plexr
Plasma soft surgery: an eyelid lift without a scalpel, plus lip lines, lesions and more — performed by optometrists who work around the eye every day.
What it is
Plexr Plus creates a tiny plasma arc between its tip and the surface of the skin — the device never touches you. Each pulse sublimates a microscopic point of excess tissue and causes the skin immediately around it to contract. Placed in a precise grid, the effect is to tighten hooded or crepey skin without cutting, without stitches and without general anaesthetic.
It is not a substitute for surgery. Plexr removes noticeably less skin than a surgical blepharoplasty, and it does nothing for excess tissue or fat sitting beneath the skin. Where there is volume underneath as well as loose skin, Morpheus8 first and Plexr afterwards is often the better plan — and if a surgeon would genuinely serve you better, we will say so.
Blepharoplasty is the treatment we are best known for, but it is not all Plexr does. The same device treats barcode lines above the upper lip and the area around the mouth, nasolabial folds, and raised skin tags and benign lesions.
Concerns

What to expect
A proper assessment first. Plexr suits some lids and not others, and we will tell you plainly if surgery, or Morpheus8 beforehand, would serve you better.
Topical numbing cream is applied and left for 45 to 60 minutes. No injections and no general anaesthetic.
Fifteen to thirty minutes for lesions; 45 to 60 minutes for the eyes, face and larger areas. You will feel warmth and small sparks, and tiny carbon crusts form as we work.
For blepharoplasty and facial treatments we finish with a post-treatment mask, and you go home with a written post-procedure routine to follow.
Expect swelling for two to three days — most noticeable on the mornings after — and small dark crusts that fall away on their own by day five to seven. Do not pick them.
Skin continues to tighten for eight to twelve weeks. Many people need only one treatment; where a second is wanted, it is done one to three months later.

Questions
Surgical blepharoplasty cuts and removes tissue under anaesthetic, with stitches and a longer recovery. Plexr tightens skin from the surface with no incision — but it removes considerably less, and it cannot address fat or tissue beneath the skin. It suits mild to moderate hooding.
Typically several years for a blepharoplasty, and the tightening does not simply reverse. Your eyelids continue to age normally afterwards, so this delays rather than stops the clock.
Plan for about a week of visible healing. Swelling peaks on day two, and the small crusts are visible until they fall away around day five to seven. Most people work through it.
Many people are happy after one. If more tightening is wanted, a second treatment is done one to three months after the first.
In trained hands, yes — and that training is the point. Plexr at Focus Aesthetics is currently performed only by our optometrists, who protect the eye itself throughout.
